What this page is

This is the public summary of how Kithix calculates and sends donations to an accepted school organization. The full terms are in the written funding agreement an organization signs during setup.

The share

The organization receives 5% of qualifying monthly spend. On an account spending more than $250,000 a month, 7% applies to the portion above $250,000. The share is worked out separately for each referred account.

The share, per referred account
Qualifying monthly spendShare
Up to $250,000 a month5%
The portion above $250,000 a month7%

For example, one referred account with $10,000 a month in qualifying spend models at $1,500 a quarter, about $6,000 a year.

Qualifying spend

Not every service a supplier sells generates a share. In general, qualifying spend is what the company pays each month for recurring services from a supplier Kithix introduced. One-time hardware and fees do not count. The written agreement has the exact definition.

When donations are sent

Donations are calculated on spend that has been invoiced and paid for the quarter. A donation is sent only after Kithix has been paid on that account, and continues every quarter while the referred account stays active.

The first donation arrives only after a company buys, is invoiced, and pays. Plan on months, not weeks.

The payout cap

Kithix never sends more on a referred account than it received on that account, so on some services the donation can be less than the published share.

When donations stop

If a referred account is canceled or becomes inactive, or its invoices are not paid, donations from that account stop. Other referred accounts are not affected. No annual amount is guaranteed.

How the donation is treated

Kithix describes what it sends as a donation to the organization, under the written funding agreement. Kithix does not represent it as a tax-deductible charitable contribution. The buying company is paying a supplier at its normal price, not making a gift.

Kithix does not give tax advice. Ask your organization’s treasurer or accountant how to record it.

Who can receive donations

A PTO, PTA, booster, or other school club in the United States that Kithix accepts can receive donations, whether or not it is a 501(c)(3). No tax number is collected at application. After acceptance, private setup asks for the organization’s legal name, a W-9, and where to send the donation.

The written agreement controls

The written funding agreement controls cancellation, inactive accounts, when donations are sent, corrections, and the end of funding. Marketing examples do not override that agreement.
